David Phillips was born in Edmonton and is a proud lifelong Albertan. Before law school, he acquired a B.A. (Hons.) with a major in Psychology with a practicum in a clinical setting. He has practiced criminal defence work exclusively since 2011 (with a practice that ranges from serious violence offences, impaired driving, drug offences, sexual assault, and theft and fraud offences, etc.) and has successfully defended thousands of criminal charges and regulatory offences; David has been successful in Provincial Court and Superior Court trials and has secured release for hundreds of individuals at Justice of the Peace hearings, Provincial Court and QB Bail Reviews. He engages in a results-based practice whether you are under investigation, if your matter is in court at a preliminary stage, for interim applications, bail, resolution, trial or sentencing-being your advocate is a serious responsibility and David strongly believes the experiences in his employment both before and during university and of course now provides a valuable base for the interactions he has with all the various stakeholders within the criminal justice system.
